Matimu Lloyd Maluluke, born in Thomo village in Giyani-Limpopo province is the firstborn child in a family of three siblings. His love for art started at Hanyani Thomo High School where he won numerous accolades as the best visual arts student in each grade.

Under the guidance of his art teacher, mentor, and friend Moses Mthombeni, Lloyd developed as a precocious artist and displayed attributes of a remarkable artist since his high school days. He matriculated in 2011 and went on to enroll with
artist proof studio where he joined their scholarship programme.

He underwent training for three years in printmaking, Lloyd worked in the Pro-shop of Artist Proof as a professional master printer under the tutelage of Pontsho Sikhosana. During these formative years, he gradually grew as an artist and participated in many art shows and exhibitions. Having grown up in a Shangaan community and being raised by his mother had a substantial influence on his artwork.

His work pays homage to single mothers and hardworking women raising children in disadvantaged communities.
